Technique:
The reference series involves the creation of fragments and sculptures in Carrara marble. Some fragments they will have wooden planks as a background, the surfaces of which will be prepared in marmorino (marble dust and slaked lime). For such fragments intended to be installed on the wall, they will come prepared steel pins, which will have both a spacer and support function, in fact they will come individually calibrated and proportioned with respect to the weight of the individual figure to be supported. Afterwards both surfaces of the funds, which the wall fragments and floor sculptures will be entirely colored with Pantone markers (composed of alcohol inks); the selected color gradients will be smooth with slight shades or variations of the same shade, these inks have a high capillarization capacity in the porosity of the marble surface, they will not distort the authenticity of the material but rather change only the colors.
Concept of the artwork:
The exhibition project intends to open a vision within an imaginary that has always been present in man, specifically the tendency to idealize divinatory figures as invisible inhabitants of the celestial vaults.
The elaborate series would like to suggest pre-earthly reminiscences of other times and spaces, which would seem hover parallel and closer than what one might think to the universe of human everyday life. In the retrace what humanity has theorized and imagined over the various centuries regarding these issues, yes they find suggestions that hybridize and merge with each other, from Greek Roman sculptural fragments to inspired by ancient Inca legends, these narrative and visual references intertwine and blend together in an abstract manner the final documents give a precise connotation.
The intent of the immersive installation project would like to identify presences in these fragments made of solids and voids, where the marble itself would seem to dematerialize, such divinatory sculptures from human features, which have always been enjoyed in an imposing manner and distant from an ordinary earthly one, on the contrary they pose in a mimetic and rarefied manner, surrounding the viewer in an enigmatic way.
